One of the lovely moments at the market on Sunday was Shannon tasting our Fuerte avocado. We also had Sharwil avocados on the stall, giving visitors a chance to try something a little different from the familiar Hass.

A creamy market favourite
We love Fuerte and Sharwil avocados for their rich, creamy flavour. If you usually reach for Hass, these are worth trying next time you visit our stall.
Ripening your avocado at home
Unlike Hass, these green-skinned varieties don't give you the same dark colour change to help judge ripeness. Leave them in your fruit bowl at room temperature and check gently for a little give. Allow around a week as a guide, although the time can vary with the fruit and the temperature in your home.
We leave our avocados to mature on the tree before picking, then let them ripen off the tree. We don't spray our avocado trees.
What's coming to the market?
Alongside our freeze-dried range, we bring fresh avocados, bananas and banana flowers whenever they're ready and available from the orchards. Our fresh selection changes with availability, so come and see what we've brought along.
